Our first Arabian, BF Catchthespirit, is a 15.3 hand, Straight Egyptian, bay gelding. Romey is a wonderful horse. He has brains and beauty, along with great personality. Romey instinctively understands each person’s riding experience and is especially gentle with children and beginning riders. He is our trail horse and constant companion. |

Time for a keep-away game! Romey, Bear and Boomer. March 26, 2008. |
| Lovers Al Shama joined our family in 2002. We purchased her when she was three months old. Shama is sweet, friendly and extremely smart. Her first time under saddle, she walked out quietly, as if she’d been ridden several times. Shama shows natural talent for barrel racing & reining and is in training for competition. | |

Why Arabian Horses?
In
2001 I
chose Romey, my first Arabian horse, because I wanted to pursue Endurance
Riding. I had never owned or spent time with Arabian horses, so I didn't
know much about the breed. Romey taught us a great deal while winning our
hearts--in fact, Rob & I became so taken with Arabian
horses, that we are now breeding Black Straight Egyptians! Our horses are wonderful,
family members.
Arabian horses are intelligent, beautiful beings. They have great endurance and heart. Arabians are desert horses, first selectively bred by Bedouin tribes. In harsh desert conditions, the horses often lived in their owners' tents. Through thousands of years of selective breeding, the Bedouin developed a strong, sensitive horse who loved people. We are lucky to share our lives with these desert treasures! Arabian horses adore "their" people and often leave pasture-mates to visit human friends. Arabians are extremely intelligent!--they learn quickly and are easily trained. Gentle yet spirited. Arabian horses are wonderful children’s mounts, as they are loyal and sensitive to their riders’ needs. Equine history is filled with Arabians- in fact, many modern breeds trace their bloodlines back to the Arabian. Today, people cross other horse breeds with Arabians for the popular half-Arabian horse; thus, adding refinement, intelligence, endurance, agility and personality. Arabians are exquisite! Their dished heads and large eyes, are breathtaking! Their history is amazing! Their intelligence, gentle spirit and beauty won our hearts.
Introducing the Gang!
In addition to our seven horses and six llamas, we share our lives with four dogs, four cats (all live inside with us) and Lizard-Boy, a mean Savanna Monitor Lizard. We started with two cats--each! Rob had Grey Matter and Black Cat. I had Loo-Bear and Murrr. Who knew that from four cats we'd end up with 22 beloved pets AND a farm! Romey & Molly llama joined us in 2001, followed by Binx, a teeny kitten I rescued from the middle of a rural road. Dreamtime Boomer Roo, our red merle Australian Shepard arrived a few months later. Maya, our Shepard/Akita cross, was rescued from the shelter, followed by Bear (another Aussie) and Panda (Husky cross)--bringing our dog total to four. ...More Arabian horses, Friesian horses & llamas joined the mix---and now we are EquiSea Farms!
